The Eve of Destruction
by P.F. Sloan
The Eastern World
It is explodin'
Violence flarin'
Bullets loadin'
You're old enough to kill
But not for votin'
You don't believe in war
But what's that gun you're totin'
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'
But you tell me over, and over, and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

The colors are so vivid and brilliant! It is an amazing vision!

Great image! I love this scene of chaos, violence, and destruction! The colors and fireworks are just perfect, nothing like a cataclysmic event to get the heart a racing! The drips are great as well as the earth starts to melt.

sigh the more things change the more they stay the same. Excellent work and right on title! The coloring and dripping blood definately help set the mood for this one. There's a real sense of dread looking at this one. ;o)

I remember this song! It is a wonderful image to accompany the lyrics.

Wows, this is such a gripping image. Like Val said, the more things change, the more they stay the same. We never ever bloody learn, do we ?? Part of this, is because we choose to shrug off evil when we see it. There always seem to be excuses... BIG V!!!

Beautiful fiery colors! Outstanding imagery.

That's a great old song, and this image is a very stark and dramatic representation of those feelings. The dripping blood is a powerful and chilling effect.

Yeah. I remember that song too. I think it was banned in Indiana somewhere. Figures

Incredibly vivid coloring; love the contrast with the relatively tranquil foreground water - really emphasizes the pending disaster. I remember that song from my college (Vietnam) days (sure felt like it was coming then; thank God it didn't and let's hope it doesn't). Very evocative imagery and excellent(even if I'm not too fond of the apocalyptic end it represents)! Rik
