Description

I would like to dedicate this image to Linda McCarthy (fractalinda) who, like a sweet little bird, has flown with me since my first fractal attempt 6 months ago. She alighted on that all-important, angst-ridden debut in Apophysis and left me with an encouraging and uplifting comment... which couldn't have been easy because it was a rather dismal piece of work... ;)

Since then, she has shown an incredible amount of tenacity and good spirits while following me along on my forays into Sterling Ware, Fractal Explorer and Ultra Fractal. Her images have always been an inspiration to me because she creates extreme magic with each and every one. Thank you, Linda, my friend... :)

Eight iterations of one Apophysis flame went into the creation of this image. None of the flames underwent postwork except to rotate and position them on the canvas. Background, frame and sig in PSP. Thank you all so much for your gracious feedback on my previous works... and thanks so much for stopping in to view this one... :) Hugs! ~Helen~

This is absolutely marvelous! I cannot IMAGINE how you achieved this! This is quite a feat, and I am soo impressed! I LOVE this!! This reminds me of the tale of the Nightengale. The Princess exchanged the true bird for one encrusted with jewels and made of precious metal, but eventually it ceased to sing, and she was dying for the loss of it. She heard the plain little bird outside who had come back with its song to bring back her joy, and she never imprisoned it again. It sang willfully out of love. A beautiful image, and a deserving friend indeed. VOTE

Looks like the seed has germinated after all the water and fertilizer. This is a beautiful compilation that shows great imagination in the use of fractals to create good art. Reminds me of some of Picasso's work. Don't stop now!

Helen this is outstanding! The way the eye and beak form such a graceful and elegant head is wonderful, not to mention the graceful wing! The accompanying plants are great especially the knotty stump the bird is sitting on! The grandient and radiance of color is superb! Congratulations!
