Description

This is both a beautiful and sad image. Monarch Butterflys have always been incrediably beautiful in both spirit and looks. They are a migrating insect that goes to a singular place in mexico every winter and return to us in Canada in the summer. Sad because there used to be millions that I would see come and go, this year I have seen less then 10 :( There natural habitat in Mexico has been destroyed and therefore they are almost no more. My children will never get to see and feel the amazment of these creatures desending upon them in the millions, a sight that was spectacular and awe inspiring. Teach your children well , for they are not only our futures but all living creatures. No postwork other then resizing the original. Again trusty Nikon CoolPix 950. Peace and Creativity Chris

Great image but a very sad story. Was the habitat in Mexico destroyed by a storm or by humans ??

Very beautiful shot of this butterfly - hope the habitat will be restored, would be a pity when these butties would be extinguished!
