I realise that the image is off kilter abit. In some ways, I like this presentation though.

Very good shot -- you capture his attitude quite nicely. You're right about things being off kilter a bit. I think the softness of the hair and the sharp line on the cheek make it look as though he's been over edited. Also, this is a tiny critique, but I think that, in the background to the far right, that little pit of white (lloks like a window frame) is hurting the composition. I don't know if you go in for Photoshop retouching, but if it were my image I would edit that out and replace it with the blurred brick pattern. I wouldn't crop the photo to remove it, though -- the space is needed to give the image balance. Also, I would slightly lighten his face... just a bit. Anyway, please take all this rambling as a complement -- I only write this much when I'm impressed and think the work merits all this typing. Really great image!

Thank you very much for your critique. The strange contrast between hair and cheek came from a twitch on my part. I did not use a tripod for the shot and my hands where alittle shaky. Since I used a digital camera for this shot, it picked up the small movement much more than I thought it would. I think I have an eye for interesting shots, but I am still working on my techinque. I appreciate all the insight I can get. :)

Neat it being off kilter. I agree with mmitchell, that tiny bit of white is a little distracting. Overall great capture though :)

I like this pose.... more casual.... great expression.... I think mmitchell's assesment is on the mark..... first think I noticed was the face and hair not being quite sharp enough....
