I know, I know...how boring...but I was just playing around with the dof function in bryce 5 and thought that this one turned out pretty cool...

is the quality of blur so grainy? focusing point will adjust creativity possibilities of 3D programs to another level.

Cool pic, but you have the compression level on your JPG turned up too high. Find out where it is set (usually under a preferences or options menu), and put it at no more than 5%.

I don't think it's a JPEG artifact. I think he turned the number of rays down to like 4 or so. It gives you a scattered effect.
