Description
A dear friend's son passed away last week. Yesterday, she and I got together. She talked of happy times, but she also spoke of sorrows and regrets, and the wish that she could have one more chance to tell him how much she loved him. Her expression was a stoic mask of blandness, but her eyes peered into the past.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had access to a Forgiveness Machine, a miracle that would allow us to receive absolution so our souls would not be so dry and brittle after a painful loss?
I tried some new postwork techniques to achieve the dark mood of the piece. Done in Poser, Bryce and Photoshop.
Thank you for looking,
Denny

It will be a tough 3-5 years for your friend. I'm glad you are there for her. http://adrr.com/living/ is a link for some grief related materials for those who have buried children. Loved the name of this render.

Sorry to hear it was inspired by such a sad situation but this image certainly is beautiful and full of emotions, very well done, especially the warm colours.

it's her expression that pulls me in... in particular her eyes which are brimming with emotion that i find it difficult not to want to reach out to her, or at the very least, just sit within her quiet... not only do i like the way you express visually, but i honestly appreciate your crafting of words beneath the image - i like their straight-forwardness & their poetry...
