I am frequently asked about the thought process that leads to some of my images. The little narratives I usually provide, in effect, give that insight. However, for this one, I'm going to tell you how this one actually came about. Today is my birthday. Now, I don't know if that really has anything to do with it, but it might. I started thinking about old TV shows and The Time Tunnel came to mind. This brought about a general musing on the possibility of time travel (My thoughts? Well, possible but not. Quantum physics would indicate that moving in time should be possible. However, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and the concept of parallel universes would make staying in your timeline impossible. Huh? Well, you could travel back in time, your time, but couldn't stay there. The fact that you have traveled back in time changes that time and now you are in an alternate universe. Want a better picture? Watch Back to the Future II. Dr. Brown explains it rather well.) Anyway, the thought that you could open a door to the past or future led to the thought that doors are two-way. If I can go through in one direction, something or someone could come through in the other. So, in this image, we have a Time Tunnel through which someone has come from the future.
