Description

Smocking as far as I'm aware is a lost art. I think I recall my mother putting some smocking on a dress she made me. I won't say how along that was. lol So, a lost art, reborn in a new art form? Sounds poetic anyway. -grin- I hope you enjoy it and that for some it brings back fond memories. Have a wonderful day. -hug- dream12

Good Lord! I remember that from the distant past; very complex and beautiful; always puzzled me as a kid how they did it! Your image is beautiful. Wonderful, well defined and richly colored, lighted and detailed with just the right touch of asymmetry. Excellent!

A beautiful image. Yes, I remember smocking--even made myself a blouse with a smocked yoke and cuffs. Long ago and far away! ;)))

don't have a clue what smocking is but I will say what i like about this work is the stable mandala form and then those chaotic yellow forms that defy the order that is taking shape

Reading the comments made me smile. I am assuming that those of us that remember smocking are in the ummmmm, "mature" age group. lol Lets just say my 60th birthday is fast approaching and I remember smocking very well from my high school home ec class.
