Description
A cemetery of former slaves after the Civil War was created here, but through disregard by City designers they covered nearly 1500-1700 graves with city streets and highways. Only during the reconstruction of Central Expressway they were "rediscovered" and excavated and buried in additional land that was set aside for this purpose.

Nice photo montage Richard...I do agree that at least Dallas created this in an attempt to acknowledge the gross error in the thinking behind the planning of the highway

Fantastic photo montage and an excellent reminder of a past gone by but not forgotten. Hopefully one day all peoples will realize there is but one race. ~ the human race ~ and begin to live in peace.
