Description

(Ultra Fractal 3.04 - no postwork) This one is for you, Dirk in appreciation for your many contributions to the gallery and its artists and - most of all - for your inspiration and encouragement to me personally. Though perhaps not immediately recognizeable, the abstract refers to Lewis Carol's story of the "Walrus and The Carpenter" contained in "Alice In Wonderland". The woody tones are to suggest the Carpenter, the tusks and formal attire are to suggest the Walrus and of course the oysters (best served chilled)proliferate (I hope self-evidently). Would I were a more competent artist so I would not have to explain the image, perhaps down the road I'll get there. For me, this is also a record: my first 12 hours render (wasn't sure it was ever going to finish)! Hope you enjoy. Thank you to everyone who viewed and commented on my last posting. Bon appetite! Rik {0;D

Completely and totally gorgeous, the long render has paid for itself in the level of detail and fine lines. A most excellent work and dedication to both Dirk and Alice in Wonderland!!! ~V~

V Wow, Thanks Rik!! It's a fantastic fractal visualization of Tweedledee's story. Your 12 hour render certainly paid of!! The clarity and detail of your fractal is so wonderful (specialy like the tusks). Isn't it great that we all carry our AIW with us into adulthood. Says something about the timeless genius of Lewis Carroll, think he would be amazed to see what an influence his visions still have to this day. Let's close with this magical opening sentence of the poem, it's one of my fav's!! The sun was shining on the seaShining with all his mightHe did his very best to makeThe billows smooth and brightAnd this was odd, because it wasthe middle of the night** ...OK, now for some oysters ;-))) Thanks again, Rik!!

This is a fantastic fractal, Rik. I'm in awe of your ability to design deliberately based upon whatever your idea is..rather than the other way around. Great tribute to a wonderful artist and person. Just a thought..I don't think a piece of art should have to be explained. As an appreciator of art, I like to draw my own conclusions..though it is interesting to learn what the artist had in mind. This fascinating fractal fantasyscape blows me away.
