BIO
(Updated 8.31.07) Greetings and thanks for visiting. Life has thrown me some curve balls recently and it is even harder to make time to be part of the Terragen community, which I have enjoyed so much in past years. I miss this bunch of people. If you miss me or just want to say "Hello," send me a note. I will check in from time to time and will be sure to respond. Cheers. Steve

Agree with you about the dark shadow: you should place the sun to the left side. Also it'a beautiful mood!
joshus_hund
Agree with peten! Apart from that the atmo is still xlt!!
Zazie
You even can keep the sun where it is. To avoid the black shadow in the center look at the "Lightning conditions" window and under "Background light" raise the "shadow lightness". But still a wonderful view and atmo ! I cannot say that the shadow disturbs me.

I love the image as it is!The shadow creates the dramatic mood in your image! For lighter version of the shadow just use the button = multy -directional shadow lighting - and choose the colours for your shadow.Great image and colours!

Agree with Zazie...

The realization is excellent, as regards the shade, if you want soft shades it false to increase, the "shadow ligthnes" ,Bravo!

I love this terrain and pov! Even the shadow, but what I do is one of two things..I raise the Sun's altitude about 5 more degress and uncheck shadows on terrain in the Sun Tool goody, or sometimes I change the background light. But usually the former works ! Sensational water and everything! V :)

Very nice work Steve....as said already, adjusting shadow lightness will do the trick but it will also pull back shadow density elsewhere. For my money, you could pull the sun around a little more to the left, to light the leading edge of the shadow area or conversely if you have Photoshop or PSP select the shadow area and use the dodge tool to pull back the shadow density in that area. Your images are improving in leaps and bounds.

I Like it! As far as the sun placement if you want the sun in view and don't want dark shadows just increase shadow lightness a little. And then if you prefer you can use a Lighten/Darken touch up brush to lighten the shadows a little more. However I like the contrast! Excellent!

I saw the sky you did for Buzzzzz' piece today and decided to take a look at your gallery... I'm so glad I did... so many fine works here!
