Just one frame from animation of demon's face appearing on the door. Face is a displace map applied to the door.

amazing. but i dont believe this is only 3d max. ist looks like some photoshop effects too (glow etc.)

Tekener is right. It isn't MAX only. But in Photoshop I only add little smooth effect to scene. Glow and rays was created in MAX using volume lights and VideoPost
