Description
It is sad that it take's a event and loss to realize not to take all for granted - I through this image together rather hastily - It is simply a collage of some images from RJ's gallery - My intention is good - and considering the source - me - I think it should serve my purpose well - my goal is to bring additional attention to the cause and effect leading to our pending loss of Racin-Jason - also it is a small tribute from me to RJ - For me the cause is a lack of willingness on my part and in general - a kind of deniel - I would like to think I have some great gift and I am above needing help - advise - whatever from a pier - Many good people have broken away from renderosity in order to increase the possibility that in some way they may generate some sort of income from the thing we all luv so - the thing is here - it seems we are more than happy to offer our stuff up but are not so happy spend money on someone else's - Now it is silly to think by doing this we would be able to exist - No we need the public to understand that we are for real in order to see true success - but we may be able to make it possible for our own to remain - A kind of a little help from our friends thing - Now I may be missing the boat here completely you say - but - I am still sad to see RJ go in this way - So good luck my friend and for sure to take care :) -

PS. I must explain my seemingly lack of pressence here as of late - Recently it started raining porn on my system :/ - I guess I ziged when I should have zaged and got taged - so I reformated my HD and am rebuilding my system - And it's a real pain LOL - but it only herts when I laugh - wow the things I saw :))))

Awesome layering in this image, and I agree wholeheartedly with your statement. As a starving Artist who has never made a dime from his work, I feel qualified to comment. Sadly, there's a real resistance in traditional art circles to accept digital Art. It seems this has happened historically whenever a new medium arrives on the scene. Eventually as more and more talented people take up digital pallettes, our medium will become accepted. The sad fact of this is, that like many Artists of the past, they'll be scrambling and fighting over our works after we're dead! Jason is one of the best in our field, and it breaks my heart that he's not hugely successful, but until we break down the barriers erected by "Traditional" Artists, who look at our works and know their days are numbered, success is elusive... don't know if any of this makes sense but felt it needed to be said... Keep rockin Greg, someday our ship will come in...

Very unique image. I, too, agree, Jason will be an irreplaceable loss to this community for his spirit and his talent are very BIG. He truly loves art - his own and others, and has a very unique ability to bring out the best in us. This was a very thoughtful tribute to such a great man. CC

I donot know him but do know how Traditional artist are. I was going to show some of my work to an old collage prof. and when he hear it was computor he had nothing to do with me. I talked to an art teacher about it she told me not to worry about him but digital Art is in the art books now. hope that will help you out of the blues.[ps even Traditional" Artists here on renderosity will give you a hard time ]

Greg - I needed to stop by not only to thank-you for your very considerate tribute toward my work - but to tell you that this collage presentation is of excellent creative arrangement and quality. Additionally, don't feel badly about the slow acceptance of art created via the computer - it is far more accepted in the world than most people think - just look at the number of movies where all the special effects were created on the computer and that are a donative accolade to graphic artists like you, me, and the many creative artists here at Renderosity. I am deeply honored by your unselfish dedication and have been proud to refer to you as 'my friend'. Take care and keep up the great work you do - it is both creative and a fine example of dedication to your craft.

Is it pride that rejects the handout or rage at having no income from the source. Some of us have been given advantage in the machines that shape our lives where a current on the phone or a puff of breeze from a ceiling fan makes us seem the supplier. Others though gifted with color seem clownish and foppish to the throng. Sure, we could always be customers but from a place spurned on the floor, the will to get up is diminished. That said. I believe that though I give up my body to be burned if I have not love I am the clang of a gong and the bang of a cymbal. A big hand to RacinJason as he makes his stage exit.

Perhaps I'm lucky to know some people who live by, for, because of and nothing else but digital art. Perhaps it's a choice they made to dedicate their life to, perhaps it's is because of a long artistic background and the grew along with time or health and we just chose a form of digital therapy. An artist becomes an artist when his/her art becomes accepted but he/she'll never get rewarded on the profit made by reselling/ discovery after death whatever. Our only wealth is producing the expression, travel the world for and with it, and peace of mind by doing it..... A great tribute and a story that makes one think.
