Actually it didn't even occur to me to add a fractal image to one of my Terragen renders! But seeing your picture definitely makes me want to try it out! The totem looks like a 3d object itself and you said that you used a 2d program to get the 2 images together and I'm wondering how you got the fractal in - because it looks like it was added as a transparent layer?
