Description

As some of you already know my hard-disc all of a sudden physically broke down last week, so all the images I have taken this year and not uploaded here are gone now :-( I still hope I will get some of them back with the help of a company (as well as the originals of all the others and all my other files) without having to spend a fortune... Today I received a CD with all the files I have sent to a very dear friend during the last months, and fortunately this image was on there, too, so I thought I'd share it with you. "Queen Mary 2" visited the port of Hamburg in July and standing there with all those people waving her goodbye again was really incredible.

I really dread what happened to you......... have been through it mysel and it sux........... I am sure u will recover it back. Most of the time it is trouble with the operating system and not the hard disc itself but then..... if it had anything to do with high voltage etc., I can't say. My elder bro......who is a geek, claims..... there is no hard drive that can go wrong unless you use a hammer on it........ if he is to be believed...... you will get everything back in no time. Keeping my fingers crossed for you .......... for yours is a masters collection.:O))

Oh, that is a very sad harddisk-story and no backup either: a hard lesson! But you will survive and keep on doing the good "shooting" :)

I like the vintage look you gave it. I had a similar experience with data loss on some CF cards during my last trips, not as bad as yours though. Anyways I have taken measures now (backups mainly) to limit my losses.
