this model was suggested by a tester of the rpg in progress ;) this is what I made of it, the concept is easy: crab walks to target and detonates in little fragments doing maximum damage. I gave it a flamethrower & machine gun for clearing possible obstacles in the path. big thanks to the guys on the forum for the comments & suggestions. -Kenny

Fantastic concept and visualization! Would be very cool to see a couple of hundred of these in an animation. The only problem I see with this is that crabs tend to walk sideways. :o)

thanks for the replies & votes :) M, I've been wondering how to make him walk too. I was thinking of making him move more like a spider, just to save me from having to make a "turn around" anim for every direction he needs to shoot in. there must be a certain type of crab that walks forward anyway :o) , so I bet I'm pretty safe lol

Nice looking model, the textures really give it an authentic feel. The only bit that I dont like is the metal texture for the stuff under the shel but thats just personal taste.

Cool WarCrab. Excellent textures and bumps make it nearly tangible, but I do concur on the metal textures of the underlying framework. They don't look metallic enough and are not in line with the excellent shell textures.

try imagining it at a 45 topdown angle, no point working on stuff that will not be seen anyway, right? ;o)
