this was my first time using vue i did this just to get use to the tools and layout of the program tips would be greatly appreciated cause i don't feel that i have the hang of it yet

A very serene image - can't give you any tips cos I don't know Vue but well done for a first attempt!

Do you use strong bump for the textures ? The render is a bit odd. Try to use different surfaces, skies... see the difference. Choose a clear sky to begin and replace it at the end, it is easyer. Bienvenue parmi nous .... ;-)
