Description

This is a native (Tennessee) spider we call the "writing spider", so-called because the zig-zag pattern of webbing it creates at the center of its web looks like writing to some people. Superstition has it that if one writes your name, you will die. It is also supposed to be bad luck to disturb a writing spider's web. Modeling in Wings3D and Bryce. Web is a transparency map created in Photoshop Elements. Some postwork in Photoshop. Thanks for looking. John

Very cool image.I like the spider very much.Very realistic web, just like the real one does it.Maybe you've spent a lot of time observing this kind of spiders to come up with this image.I'm a big fan of spiders.

More blur in web . Less definition on the spider (more evil). Have you ever hit one face to face ? Blurrrrrrrrrrrs and you run like a little girl. My two cents..........markostimpy...............

Beautifully done, John. I tried for months to have an acceptable spiderweb, but at the end I gave up. It seems that you're there! Congrats.
