Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Cool, you saved the best natural artwork of this place for last...ok, back in the car..."I got shotgun"...in case you don't know that phrase, it means that I call the front seat on the passenger side as my seat! (lol)

I agree with what has been said above. The POV, DOF, everything is technically perfect. Also the mood is perfect. The reflections are wonderful and the place seems very nice, yet very hostile and remote. Somehow like on planet X.

So many beautiful details and great color palette!

For the walker boredom makes footsteps and cadence the purpose. With a camera still waters make poor movies. Action, great peaks are left behind to see how unhindered is the movement of ice. I never really did the still camera. That was left to my other family members.

I'm not really sure about this one JC. I'd try to get a little closer to show just the water and the reflections .. or a little wider to show the surrounding area? Not really sure .. but the backdrop disturbs me a little. Sorry for nagging :)

incredibly impressive photography...amazing reflections. i can't stop staring at the water....and those pebbles and stones. yes, nature is indeed it's own artist. look at this magnificent image you captured!!! i would like to stay just a bit more. there are untold stories in the water. i gaze into the reflections, listening. the sun has shined on this spot for centuries, but i just now see it. Is it not amazing when you put your ear to the ground or against a tree what whisperings you hear??? Perhaps God is speaking here. I listen quietly for his voice. will i recognize it? Will i hear? i need to stay a bit more before going to Grimselpass. i am listening so hard.
