Description

This one has gone through quite a few changes, although it really doesn't reflect much of the aggravation and struggle. I'm always fascinated by photographs of the old west and the depression era of the "dust bowl" region. Some people are willing to "pioneer" a new idea or tehnology, only to see it quickly superseded by something else, leaving them behind. They stick it out in obscurity, or abandon it all together. I just wanted to create something that reflects that feeling of loss when you realize the world isn't knocking at your door anymore. The center of your universe just might turn out to be the middle of nowhere real fast- change can do that. Life can leave you wondering "what really has value?" I used earthtones and colors that would lend a sepia tone without resorting to a filter. Lighting is simple- sun, wind and earth. Yes, there is some postwork here from PS; just some things that at this time I can't work out in Bryce. Everything modeled and textured by me except the model A truck, wagon, cactus, barn and barrels. The truck was a hotrod, which I "retroed" with different wheels and hood. Plants are from Bryce. Rusty metal texture from the web. The structures and mountains/terrains aren't accurate to some certain locale- just more for the overall feel. Models not mine are from 3D Cafe and Baumgarten Ent.

I really like this, must've took tons of work, the thumbnail doesn't do this justice, but was quite interesting on it's own. I like the way you've used the sand and rust colors, rather than the filter, it makes the sky so much more impressive. Well done~V
