Good lighting effects, good laser effects, great background, but the pose isn't quite dramatic enough. If the Guardian is shooting sideways, you should make it bend its legs somewhat. From a tactical standpoint, the bent legs would make the Guardian a (slightly) smaller target, and from an aesthetic viewpoint, it would look freakin' awesome. Good picture, but needs more of a sense of action.

Sartre, your point is valid IF Guardian is actually shooting at a target which can return fire - then it would also be holding up the shield. And a weapon with recoil might justify a wider stance, but the beam-weapon has no recoil. Truthfully, I made this as a test-render for the beam, which is a cylinder prop.

I am just curious, if it is a "beam" weapon, why it has a magazine, designed so as to hold solid slugs? ;) The beam itself is gorgeous, but I would have to say that the rest of the layout seems a bit uninspired. A good start though.

I was certain someone would ask that question. A magazine used to feed a beam weapon has been used in fiction - "Hammer's Slammers" featured hover-tanks using such a system, mashing two chambers in the capsule together to produce a plasma-beam. The casings would contain fuel or a battery, so I felt there is no contradiction. Maybe you get 10 seconds of beam-emission for each "slug". Jack Vance had his characters use guns which could use a chunk of metal as ammo, slicing off a sliver which was accelerated to the speed of light to become a beam-blast. I have put these renders here to show the Guardian in use, to help Valandar, since I appreciate the wonderful job he did. There is no story to it, just the mecha shooting to show the model and the beam. A practice sketch. Really, if I was trying to make a great pic, I would add in some people and more vehicles. But then this audience would never see any of that because my best work is all within pay-sites. Also, the other vehicle is DAZ HoverCar, and the sparks about the barrel are made from BECreatives free props. Please do not get me wrong, I am not offended or being defensive. I like to know the render made anyone think about the details. Thanks for the comments!
