Happy Birthday Gerhard !!!
Im late (again) *sigh* sorry about that my friend..
I hope you like this image, it isnt really fit for
a bday dedi but i had the choice between this ant
and a slimy mushroom lol ;o)
Hope you had a wonderful day, and keep sharing your
masterpieces my friend its always a joy to look at
them !! :o)

This image shows the Red Wood Ant Formica rufa
carying one of its own. The ant that is being
carried doesnt really resembles a pupae so i dont
know wether it is a pupae in a late stadium or just
another ant that is being carried... Lots of ants
were doing exactly the same thing. Nearby i found a
demolished ant-hill, so guess they were relocating...
Hope you like :o)
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on
my last upload, "A Sunny Afternoon" !!
Many thanks,
Enmos

An ant can carry a leaf over hundreds of miles just to get it back to the anthill! Ants in Africa will strip a forest bare when food is scarce, if it takes them a year. Every ant in an anthill is part of the ant "group mind" as all the ants work for the queen ant and the hive! The teachings we can learn from ant is self sacrifice and patience, they are planners and very community minded, and content to see their dreams built a little at a time. In today's society that is a rare quality!!! Patience does have its rewards! May we take some deep lessons from the ant!!! Very nice dedi for Gerhard! Excellent photo!!!
