You may be a beginner, but this is off to a great start. Water takes longer to render than land. Please post in the Terragen gallery, this way you have a better chance of getting terragen-specific feedback as I only stumbled onto your image. Lovely sky and water and surface colors. Reduce amount of bump on surfaces to reduce this grainy look.

This is excellent work. The lighting is awesome. Yes, water and especially 3D clouds take an extremely long time to render. Most of the time, it is well worth the wait.
