Firstly, thankyou to all who commented on *Light Study 2*!!
I thought you may be sick of Freesias, (I hope not, I have another 30 or so in my collection) For now I thought I'd share this bizarre creature with you. At first I thought it was a wasp, but it wasnt until he posed for me, that I saw his pointy rear end....I think he's some kind of Saw Fly, but if anyone out there knows, please fill me in =)
ps....I'll be going horse riding early October, I may be brave and take my camera this time...but if I break my camera, I'll be blaming you guys ok!! *laughs*

Nope, not one tiny bit, feel free to show as many as you have. As for the insect, your right, its in the sawfly family, most likely a version of a horntail, since I am not that familiar with insects down their, but thats what it looks like. As for the photo, excellent caputre, and another excellent job as always.

I agree with you Nongo, that's why I had to run screaming when he took of from that leaf....cuz guess who he was chasing!!! I dont think he liked me using the flash. Ok, I didnt scream, but I did run lol.

Some form of hymenopteron. Probably a horntail or a wood wasp, but there are also some more hymenopteron look like this

Wonderful shot. He must have some appetite too if he's responsible for the missing chunks from the leaf! Excellent work - love it.

Yeah i think Apophis906 and Torulf are right about it being a woodwasp (=horntail). I looked around but didnt find this particular species of woodwasp though. Wonderful shot here, very good details !! Excellent work !!
