I love this image! Clear atmo and crisp render. Fantastic terrain with perfect strata, and surfaces are very realistic. Beautiful atmo/sky. Lovely water with nice transparency (although, I think the real Lake Powell is a bit muddy in color, if memory serves). Not a problem, because the water is your artistic licence. (VOTE)

You are correct, stbc. The actual water is mostly muddy. In fact, it is almost red because the soil has lots of iron in it and most of the cliffs are composed of this soil/sediment. I chose to use artistic license because I think it looks better clear than muddy. Thanks for all your comments!

Where did you get the DEM? I'd love to try this one. This is a very beautiful scene. It is not typical of the Lake Powell region. The cliffs there are strata of light red and cream. The more level ground is very sandy with occasional bushes.

doneydonydone, I believe it is from a real DEM although I don't remember where I got it and it was only 512x512. The name was rainbowbridge. Glad you liked it.
