Very nice! Great render size and detail- looks like they've been firing the big guns from the "smoked" look of the barrels.

aren't there float planes on the back?..a modeler's work is never done..;) great detail (I only mention it because I've been to the North Carolina battleship, which I think is the same class..

Pakled, no this is an Iowa-Class battleship, BB-63, with modern weapons, not the North Carolina. There were 4 Iowa-class battleships: Iowa, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Missouri. This ship has no float planes, that's WWII-era. This version is/was from the 80s and 90s. "How can you tell?", you ask. Well, the communications mast in the bow is a modern addition. So are the 4 Vulcan Phalanx rapid-fire anti-missile defense systems in the superstructure. (those 4, well 3 visible, Star Wars R2D2-looking white fixtures, are large machinegun-like weapons that fire approximately 3000 rounds of ammo a minute toward an incoming missile or plane) Also, there are the large coffin-like boxes amidships that house the naval versions of the Cruise missiles, which fire out to the sides of the ship, installed in the 1980s. And lastly, the complete absence of the old WWII-era anti-aircraft batteries in the stern and bow round stations, as well as from the main superstructure, that were very prominently placed over the entire ship. This is a mesh of the USS Missouri, ca 1990s, now permanently berthed next to the USS Arizona and her memorial, in Pearl Harbor, Hi.
