Description

I AM FURIOUS! I spent the past two hours tweaking the final version of this image (it includes a pistol), only to have the software crap out on me while saving the file! ARRRRRRGH! At least I have all the pieces (including an updated badge with larger letters) and can recreate the image tomorrow. Here's the scoop on this project. I'm working on a new header graphic for my Website to promote my Wild West Miniatures game: Gutshot. The entire thing was done in Strata 3D Pro 3.9, with textures from Kitchen Sink disc that came with it and from their website, www.stratacafe.com. BADGE: The star was created from skinned paths that I imported from Freehand 9. Likewise for the cowboy figure, which is our company logo. The outer ring was modeled in Strata. Letters are beveled text on a path. POSTER: Original design I created for a playtest of the game. I bought the texture from I-stock Photos and the faces are from www.clickart.com. I created a custom transparency map for the edges and a bump map in Photoshop 7. The shape is a Bezier plane that I added points to in order to deform and wrinkle it. This actually took a lot longer than I expected, but I like some of the little bubbles and curves. BELLETS: Standard shapes that ship with Strata: retextured, of course. Tomorrow, hopefully, you

Very well laid out and, yup the letters on the badge need to be bigger. I think it will be a wonderful header for your web sight. I can't wait to see the new one.

Sorry that you had all that trouble. It can be frustrating with these damned programs and computers. You did a fantastic job here. Love the detail and textures. Excellent artwork!

I found out that there is a free download to patch the app so it won't crash again. The problem had something to do with exceeding texture memory. If you have Strata 3.9 Pro, I urge you to go to the Strata Website and download the patch! http://www.strata.com/support/freeupdates.html
