And now for something completely different.....I was trying to figure out a way to take close-ups with my only digital camera, an HP C200. I got the bright idea to try a jewelers loupe. This is the result. The tip of a cigarette taken at 10x.

Some strange purple fire, are you sure it's only a "cigarette" :) Nice result with your experiment though!

i guess eventually if something else doesn't get you first... magnifying lenses work great, just hard to hold everything right... well done :]
