Ahh considering that there isn't much left in bloom that hasn't gone brown..he's just fueling up. Probably more desperation that's caused his greed than anything else..looks like a big one..with even bigger appetite.

Snakey this must be of the same species of my post today. Mine had alot more hair but has the same markings as yours. I think mine is a Monarch that travels to mate in Mexico by the millions each year and the young return to the US and Canada.the temperature variations of the forest in Mexico has decreased the population. excellent shot
