Apparently, the girl was both the catalyst and the subsequent victim of her own devious plans. When her family lived on the outskirts of Boston, they had wealth and position. Unfortunately, being envied by the wrong people at that time created problems and so they moved. Historically speaking, their family had ties to previous accusations of 'witchcraft' and decided a new place would be safer than riding out the tide of religious persecution. The girl was a 'child of nature' and hence considered a 'witch'. Other families in the area did well and the community settled nicely, until she began communicating with an ancient entity that had followed her from their previouis home. This was not a 'ghost' or a 'demon' (misnomer but that's a linguistics thing!) but this was a part of Earth itself. Loving nature and feeling as part of the living planet beneath her feet she thought nothing of using these energies to her advantage. Living flora and fauna all responded to her touch. But the girl had more power than she understood. She could manipulate and alter reality at will (the true magick of ancient times which we now know to be "the power of positive/negative thinking" taught in businesses worldwide). She was not popular with the folk in the new town and this led to a very dark time...
