A darkness surround me as I begin this journey yet again. I have traveled this path before but it has never been quite like this. There is something more terrifying about it this time. The darkness seems to not only be around me but also in me. Sometimes it seems to be radiating from me, but that can not be. I won't believe that. I thought I had faced those dark depths before but perhaps not. Or maybe I just didn't get the outcome I expected. Either way, this time, I know, must be different. What I protect is more valuble than anything most beings would be able to imagine. I will not fail and will never give up. The eye that watches over me guides the path but does not control it. I pray that someday all I have done is understood. For if some good can come of what I do I might yet fine happiness somewhere, someday.
