The thumb does not show the textures and thus looks "cleaner" than the full size image. I'd prefer the "clean" look which I like very much...

The darker areas keep looking like some kind of animal to me if I look at it right...they are dogbullhippos...very cool!

I agree with abmlober, perhaps a little less texture. I like the colors and vertical off-center composition very much.
