Description

A modeller's treasure trove! No. 31 is approaching Strassburg, PA from Paradise. (Yes, I know: it should be approaching Fish Hook which is at the 'end of the line.') Some of the extra rolling stock is just laying around, those fields are being worked by 3-horse teams (Amish country), and that pattern of splattered oil can only be from a steam engine, or more. Note that puff of black smoke just wafting off to the right there. These guys are dirty, old, noisy machines! The engine is coming past the 'only place in North America where steam passes steam on a regular schedule.' What is odd is that the engines usually leave Strassburg engine first and then do a run around at Paradise so that they return tender first. Well, not complaining, a train running backwards doesn't make as nice a picture. Not sure how old #31 is, but this is a link worth eyeballing. . . http://www.strasburgrailroad.com/photo_gallery.htm Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
