Description

These two deputies are members of the Special Operations Reaction Team (SORT). They are putting on body armor in response to an inmate who has assaulted three deputies and a nurse. The inmate had stripped naked in his cell and had a bucket filled with water and urine. He had his mattress set up as a shield and tied the cell door shut so he could attack anyone who entered the cell while they cut the bindings. The mission consisted of 8 deputies and a nurse. There were five SORT members who entered his cell and secured the inmate with handcuffs and shackles, one deputy who cut the bindings, one deputy with a shield to protect the deputy cutting the bindings and one deputy with a pepperball gun to incapacitate the inmate if he approached the cell door while the bindings were being cut. I'm not going to go into too many details on the execusion of the mission. The end result was that the inmate was secured, rehoused to another cell, and was assessed for any injuries. No staff nor the inmate were injured during this mission. The female Deputy in this pic is also in a few of my other posts, including the Members' Photo Album. WOW!...gives sorta memories back to me. I never did prison jobs. But wow!..these: "This is not a drill" photo's can sure give chills. Excellent photos.
