Description

The Land of Oz has its dark side, too. :^) Based on a matte painting from the 1939 classic film, The Wizard of Oz. Mostly Bryce modeling, some Wings3D (for the tower tops), and postwork in Photoshop. This is probably the last Oz image, they're too hard, and I'm lazy. :^) Thanks for looking. John

LOVE it...i'm amazed by your OZ project, John! It's too bad you're ending the series, though...what about the flying monkeys? :P

My first thought when I saw this was the flying monkeys... I see others had the same picture in their minds... so well done... you've really captured the foreboding mood!

Back when I was a small child, this place scared me more tham Mordor. Excellent job of capturing the feel of the original matte. I'm sorry you're ending the series too.

Hey, tjohn, it's a classic, so it doesn't matter how long you linger over it. You can always re-decide later to pursue it at you leisure! Terrific modeling as always, love those "blobular" rock outcrops..!

Hats off to ya, this one rocks too my friend! For a self proclaimed lazy fella you sure seem to be showing some ambition with these Oz renders. Fantastic work once again! I am particularly fascinated with the night setting on this one... you really nailed it.
