Description

This is not the one I originally was going to post today; instead, after getting some suggestions on adding more layers to snow (which I appreciate) I decided to try my hand at doing just that. This render is way high on the terrain as evidenced by the lake at bottom center. I used three layer of 'snow' covering - the first, smooth, second a gray color with a slight bump and third, a white layer with a bit more bump. Let me know how I did with this. I also love working with the mist which at this height would be evident down below. Thanks for all your helpful comments on my work Enjoy the view. WM and Terragen

This is a great step in the right direction. These surfaces work best in the distance, up close they look a bit thin, I think. So, try less "mimic terrain" to see if you can make the snow look fluffier (i.e., conforming less to the underlying rock). Keep up the the great work! :)

I'm not really qualified to comment on the snow but it looks pretty good to me. A very steep and slippery slope and it sure looks like a long way down. The mist looks great and really makes this an intersting scene!

I admire your skills at creating fog. Snow looks nice to me, but I've not tried snow yet.:)

Agree with the above but...I think the snow is pretty good...maybe just clinging unnaturally in a few places and the golden tones make it a bit like yellow snow...(watch out where the Huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow :)) still, I like it!!!

WOW. Spectacular point of view, and I like the misty atmosphere. The snow looks realistic enough to me- color, consistency and covering.
