Description
When it rains I think of you. I sit outside and listen to it fall and watch how it begins to make everything shimmer in the slowly fading light. I close my eyes and feel the storm surround me. The warm wind feels like you sitting beside me. In the distance there is a flash of light and I hear the thunder roll across the darkening sky. I wish that when I opened my eyes I would see the storm over the water and feel the gentle raindrops roll down my face. Instead all I see is blacktop and a few trees illuminated by the dull streetlight above. The wind turns cold and I realize I am alone. Your faceless soul never leaves me but it is not comforting. It only reminds me I am alone.
