Description
Someone cuts you off at the crossing and you have to wait behind the red light another minute again.... you explain something to a child or dementia ridden person a hundredth time, knowing they probably will not remember and your explanation must be given again....a false rumour goes around about you at your church or work and you overhear people rehearsing your fate behind your back...your art teacher tells you that what you are doing isn't art and tears up your efforts... a little voice seems to whisper a cutting accusation of rejection that lays your heart bare..... you feel a strength rise up in you, weak at first then sustained by your prayer... a strength not of yourself...not of anger, self piety or 'righteous indignation'- you know someone who has been this way before....
the context changes, it re-warms .... somehow you know deep down there's something bigger... you sigh, bite your lip softly, smile with resignment and even tilt with mock sarcasm at no-one in particular the smile changes to something more warmer and glowing from within and you remember - longsuffering...

The 4th fruit - and the first of three expressed predominantly 'outwards' towards people....

It's beautiful, Adam! longsuffering...something that's good for us to remember when we're dealing with people. we should try to be gentle with our words and soft with others. when someone has long suffered, they need our gentleness. exceellent work! vote!
