Description

Port Authority's In For It Now. by: Robin Minick 10/08/2004 It's been a long journey form One home to another and Earl King Hills were becoming far less abundant than they had been in previous years. The Pirate Gailox had taken on a different role as she'd been fae vexxed for having lingered too long in the enchantment of their festivities. Though she'd been warned NEVER to partake of the food and wine produced by the fae, she'd shrugged it off with her usual attitudes of non-challance. The Pirate Gailox, was now adorned with ethereal wings and force to travel on all Hallow's Eve in search for solace of the fae. She was allowed to take her ship and all along the night skies and on the far shore traveled with her in succession a multitude of fae. Her fondest recreation was to land at various sea ports along the way and terrorize the citizens there, especially on All Hallow's Eve, because contrary to her nature and the laws of the night, she was still rebelling, and determined to make this journey part of her past. Her past was fast becoming well noted among the fae folk and they surely did disapprove. Normal tricksters of the traditional Halloween were restless spirits set free to rome about on that night, but they could be appeased by treats set out and small bowls of milk with sugars or honey. If you did not treat the restless ghosts and goblins you were haunted and tricked, and terrorized, but some folks enjoyed a good thrill if they were of sound mind and stout heart, it made for quite the conversation around a community pitcher of meade. The fae folk told the fae king and queen of the bad deeds they witnessed at the hands of the Pirate Gailox. They spoke of the time she made a frail hearted woman see her own reflection errupt with snakes, causing her to turn stone cold dead that instant! They told of how she put thoughts in heads of small children to put tacs on the school seats of other small children.. Rusty tacs, at that. There were more horrific tales of the horror she brought with her from one port town to another and the fae were losing their powers against her. The King and Queen were very angered and upset at this news, and went to a famous old wizard who wishes to keep his name out of the story, because he claims his cure was lame, but I, the runt of the fae, and favorite of the queen, thinks it was a genious plan and is still used today only now..since kids are being kids.. we the fae have decided lately to just gang up on her.. and take her powers away.. that's today.. but back then..this is what we had to do.... After having visited the famous but incognito wizard, the royal pair came back with a huge pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and a magic carving knife. In front of all of us faeries, they carved a huge big smiley face with triangled eyes and even a nose. Personally, I thought it could have used a little more of an artistic flare, but that's besides the point. Inside the hollowed out pumpkin they placed a candle and lit it. They spoke a rhyme over the pumpkin and the pumpkin became many many pumpkins with various faces..some happy, some goofy, some really really scarey..and, some very artistic *winks*. We the fae were instructed to take these to all the port towns and place them in front of every door. Even the doors of the houses which seemed empty. That in doing so, we would be able to keep her from passing into the homes and causing trouble or harm. There was one problem, we over looked in every single port town the building called the port authority, and we think to this very day on all Hallow's Eve, that every port authority in ever single port town..is in for it.... BIG TIME. We just can't be sure, because we the fae haven't seen the dread Pirate Gailox faery ever since her powers were umm, supposedly stripped. So, don't land in any port town where you need to appear before the Port Authority on Halloween or.. you may find out if she's still around or not. Disclaimer: This here tale was completely made up in the completely goofy noggin of a completely goofy gal who personally has nothing against any port authorities or even knows any so just have fun. Happy Halloween.
