I LOVE Genova ... I lost my heart in Genova ... shehas stolen my heart completely ... I once fell into love with her ... so I could not really trust my eyes when I really saw GENOVA ... Cristofor Columbo belongs to Sestri Ponente already? I was told that it lies between Sestri Ponente and Sampierdarena ... great photo, and I love this miraculous city!! Thank you for sharing this!

Dear Theta, I must say you are right, the airport area used to be a part of the former Cornigliano municipality, as far as it existed at all in those days (until 1926). Anyway, people here seem not to care that much, as the airport is now whithin the "Medio ponente" borough, comprising both Cornigliano and Sestri. Local bus crivers, for instance, call it the "Sestri airport", as it lies beyond Cornigliano proper, right in front of the Sestri motorway entrance.
