Description

Thanks for viewing. I submitted this one this morning but just wanted to add more. Not much... the ravens, some fog, better texturing, rescaling, changing trans maps... oh, well. Hope you like. This image started out as an experiment in HDRI but I dropped that and went straight for Global Illumination. I wanted to create an eerie atmosphere without the image being darkened out. Credits: Vue, DAZ and Lyne. Hang on... hang on... last minute update... couldn't decide between the sepia or the colour version... so here they both are :). You can throw the one you don't like.

A wonderfully composed scene with superb atmospheric tone; well worthy of such an elegant frame.

A very difficult decision. The color version looks more natural, the sepia version looks more spooky and it would make a fantastic book cover. Both pics are excellent compositions in every detail. vote

I like the sepia one best, looks more creepy, which I guess is the intention. Excellent work both.

Both are excellent, Scott! Leaning more towards the sepia spookiness! Try a blue tint also...that can be even more different! Then you could have 3 to choose from...LOL!

Great update. I see the hard choice of the sepia vs color, but the purple robe is awful hard to pass up on! But then.... the heck with it, if you can't pic a fav than how can I? LOL...Excellent work Scott!

Incredible work! A fantastic image!! Love the colored one because of the robe. Not sure why.

Oh very spooky indeed! It reminds of a Boris Karloff film. I think I prefer the black and white version but they are both wonderful!

Choice is sepia because my eye discovers the character some fraction of time after the global sight of the yard.. whereas in the coloured one, on the contrary, it jumps immediately to the purple robe. Of course, both are quite excellentissime!

Both versions are excellent, with great atmosphere. I'm partial to the bottom one - the colors are quite striking and he is the main focus and most interesting object in the image. :o) CC
