Description

first of all, i'd like to say that i never expected to have the opportunity to take a photo like this. we sat on the verandah today for a nice family lunch, when from one moment to the next, this thick buzzing cloud of bees came out of nowhere. there were so many of them! i estimated in the hundreds, but parents said i was crazy and that it was in the thousands. very few of them ventured around where we were, so everyone sat perfectly still for a while. eventually, they settled on the neighbour's tree and formed this mass which you see here. it was a sight which left all of us in awe. this photo was actually taken by my sister, but that's because she went and took it after they had all settled down in this mass of bees. if they had settled down when i went to take photos then i would have taken a very similar one, so yeah i hope you like it and more importantly, i hope you don't run into one of these things unaware :p

WHOA!! thats even bigger then the cluster shot Ihave in my gallery, & it had over 100,000 bee's in, this one has got to have close to half a million bee's,good thing they wern't killer bee's, but I found they won't bother you if you don't bother, they'er trying to start a new calliny, spelt that wrong I think,so they were to busy tending to they'er new Queen, but thats 1 reasonyou really need to dowhat you did,I did the same thing, that was before Iknew I was deathly alerjet to them, without the bee's this is stillan amazeingly beautifull shot, but with bee's ,it's a 1 in a million shot, BRAVO!!!fav, (V)AWSOME SHOT!! :0)

I agree with your estimation (in hundreds). You've been lucky, this kind of wild life scene is something rare! And the picture really looks great, congrats...
