Description
An exercise in lighting for me. Named for the movie "Gothika" because it reminds me of the cell she was in.
I think the most difficult thing about Bryce is the lighting, I spent 2 hours creating the scene and then 2 days tweaking the lights.
Comments and advice are welcome!

Hi Karin! I can see, your setting of lights, with no reflections on the glass, is very well successful done! :-))) Like this image! And: Two days for an image is not to much...

Cool image, maybe some objects on the floor to give better indication that this is a prison cell. Overall a good job.

Very convincing work on the glass - I like the uncluttered look. Nice job!

depressing place but very well rendered

I agree, great work on the lighting/reflections.

It was worth the work, this has turned out very well, it looks like a prison, and feels like a prison, ( I wonder does it smell like a prison??!!) I think that I got a little carried away! It all makes me think that I'm there, so 10/10... very nice work p.s How did you do it so fast? mine took weeks on and off!

Well after I posted in the forums, I tried a few suggestions and the only one that worked was turning up the inside cell lights and lowering the ones in the hall. I ended up only using one light in the hall that flowed across the ceiling and a couple spots on the little light fixtures (turned WAY down). There's 5 lights in each cell, 4 spots and one radial. I still have an issue with the door being reflected in the glass on the right, but for those of you that saw my WIP in the forums, you know how far this came. It's also my first exercise in using this PoW in an indoor scene. I agree it could have used alot more detail inside the cells, but I didn't want to distract from the lighting. Thank you all for your positive feedback!

its a great room but i think the lights on the top can looling better wen you use two global lights neer the lamps ...for two seperate light shines and that makes the middel room brighter.. its only a ideea...no critic ..i like your work nice day and grezz sPaCy

Actually if you put radial lights in the center, then you get major reflection on the glass. That's how I first started. The glass is what makes this such a difficult lighting project.

Great result! I too have spent hours playing with lights in Bryce and can appreciate what youve achieved. I also watched Gothica just last week and youve captured the mood perfectly!
