Great memories of Drive-In Movies....loading all the kids in the wagon dressed in their jammies, in case they fell asleep; "steaming up the windows" and avoiding the floor gear shift; and piling all over the car to watch the flick and eat the "tasty?" vendor food! Speakers (which never worked right...LOL)disappeared in the 70's replaced by your car radio tuned to a special station. Sadly the last one in my area was torn down in the early 1980's. Just a little flashback to fun times!! "The guys" are enjoying a nice "all-weather" drive-in.

Thanks in advance for your comments, enjoy the trip down memory lane and see you next Tuesday!!

Ooooo, Oooooo! I get to be first! LOL! Great stuff, comradette! All that's missing is the car full of local hooligans ruining the movie for everyone else!

V o t e. Ah yes, the drive in. An almost near extinction. I truly feel sorry for those not ever having had the experience. Smuggling five guys into a car trunk for 'free'. Love your 'cars' in your work. My first was a 1960 ford falcon, much like your second from left. An 'automatic'(no gearshift lever -wink-).And your 'preview' on the screen is spot on accurate! LOL - My favorite 'trick' was to get there early in my favorite spot. Then, as a car would pull up next to me, if it was a 'guy' you would lean out your window and shout, "Sorry, but that speaker is broke!" WINK. Repeat that story until a 'cuuuute' girl drove in. Wasn't I the sneakiest little thing? WINK.

"Let's all go to the lobby and get something to eat"! Remember that song? LOL I love their all weather drive in. Sadly I think most all drive ins are gone. I'm glad to see the guys still have one. The Woody Wagon is the perfect touch. Bravo!

Great image -- The only thing that's missing are those darn speaker poles next to each car that were used to hang those scratchy sounding speakers on the window

I remmber my parents dressing us up in our pajamas to go to the movie! My sister always fell asleep and I always made it to the end. Excellent picture and my vote!!

Wonderful composition. Those cars look great . I have no memories because I never went to a drive-in. Not that there were much around where I live, either. At least theirs has the advantage of being indoors. There's a family and their kids, a couple, a group of friends... Lots of mice and all well done. Excellent! Vote!

Never went to a 'drive in' but can imagine the fun it was.. I see the gang borrowed the collection of model cars to have their private rush in front of TV.. really wonderful fantasy!

Wonderful, Wendy; I loved going to the drive in, eating the greasy popcorn and stale hot dogs, lol, and I do remember that song too! I looked at this image for about 10 mins before I realized they're in a living room, lol! Excellent trip down memory lane...thanks for the smile!

For several years we lived in Kansas City MO and there were literally 30 plus drive-ins on our side of town. Ah, such fun. Vote.

Just LOVE it! Fantastic cars by the way. Strange, I went to the drive-in hundreds of times {100 yrs ago}but don't remember the movies!

Oh, I LOVE the drive-in! There was one in my city until two or three years ago. Now I have to go a few towns over to get to one. But it's so much fun! $12 a carload, and you can get "real" junkfood there (fries, burgers, pizza)! Glad they don't have the speaker poles nowdays. And I'm even more glad that the mice have their own drive-in! :-) V
