Description

I recently had the unnerving experience of seeing my images on monitors other than my own. Geesh, the images that looked okay on mine were ghastly on some others. (my monitor is very dark even at brightest settings) Anyway, in an attempt to correct what others see (control freak?) I am darkening the renders that I upload considerably. Hopefully not too much but difficult to tell from where I sit :) Still lost somewhere in Middle Earth (can't help myself). Lots more work needed to get any resemblance to Legolas, but texturing the costumes was fun (Forest Elf on back burner for now) Thanks for looking !! Enjoy the evening :)

There's a big gamma difference between Mac and PC - I've had similar experiences, using both platforms. I like the darker gamma here on my WinXP system - it has a cinematic (read:DVD)look which is more than appropriate for your subject. Needless to say, this is brilliant. Ever thought of doing tutorials on...I dunno, anything - morphing, lighting, rendering. I for one would be in the front row. :)

Very good work. You might work a bit with lighting, too, not just dark colors.

Excellent work! Let me guess, Gimli is standing behind them, right? LOL. I'm on a Mac Laptop and the lighting looks perfectly balanced to me. I love the scene. You have done an excellent job making them look natural and expressive.

Aragorn looks just like the real thing, while Legolas has a nose that's set much too high...

OK I so understand what you mean I have a sony trinitron CRT monitor and it is much darker than what I see on my laptop after I post. Very scary. Anyhow, not much can be done about it I suppose.
