Description

This was Bentus, the great Bentusi "Harbor Ship", being escorted through a nebula. It was the last of the Bentusi vessels. It contained the First Core, or the Bentusi Core, the original Progenitor artifact from which the Bentusi derived their power. According to the History of Hiigara, this was the same vessel that defeated Sajuuk's Wrath and the Hiigaran Fleet in the First Time and forcibly disarmed the Hiigarans, eventually leading to the Exile. As such, it was more than 4,000 years old. Sadly, the Bentus was sacrificed in a battle against several Progenitor Destroyers. The Hiigarans recovered the First Core and continued on to defeat the Vaygr, using the combined power of all three cores, contained inside Sajuuk. ------------------------- Models converted from Homeworld 2 by Fabio over at www.lwg3d.org. all other effects were done in Lightwave 8 and Photoshop by Me. comments welcome, Only way to learn :)

Thank you for all the comments :) This took about 20 minutes to fully render out. Im still working on it a bit. Actually the nebula/volumetrics are going to change from two thousand sprites to two thousand volumetric particles with point light sources in most of them.(cough) Im HOPING for a more dramatic feel plus just to see if my pc can take it. From the math, it will take over two days to render lol.

This is an outstanding picture. Starting with the models..excellent conversions and the textures suit them and are nice and sharp. The composition gives the piece drama and helps tell the story, the lighting adds mood and effect. Just overall a fantastic piece, one I could imagine being a very good poster and one that I wouldnt mind on my wall.
