Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I love the unusual swirls and lines in the rock!! Almost looks like the wind swept by and somehow froze a moment in time. i may not be describing well what i mean to say...like the whish of the wind...and it got frozen, and we are seeing that moment. Sorry...i'm sleepy. i see what you're saying about a hand. Thanks you for this...i could get lost in the intricate lines!!! Fantastic work, Jan-Carel!

A fascinating mass of raw rocks, the layers, folds and swirls leave me wondering how long ago did it take to 'throw' them that way and over what period of time? Maybe we'll never know all the answers! Marvellous capture!

May I send you a critic? Ok, (if you agree), there's something missing in this picture (for me). Maybe it's in the light or in the way you've croped it. Or maybe it's just an external element (human, tree) to help us to realize the size and context of the picture. Anyway, I'm still fan of what you give us every day, ciao...

Neat, I wonder if it was flowing lava or the push of a glacier that caused that. Too cool!
