Description

Yardangs are geological formations caused by erosion of terrain primarily by wind and weather particularly in desert regions. The biggest area of Yardangs is found near Dunhuang in China. The term "yardangs" comes from the Uygur language, meaning "steep hill", and now it refers to a landform of wind-eroded hollows, mounds, etc. In the Star Wars prequel, "Phantom menace" we find yardangs. Really good surfacing & color contrast. Maybe a higher POV would let us see more of this feature!

Thank you for the excellent description of 'Yardangs'... depicted wonderfully in your piece! When you look across at the landscape from afar... it always seems so soft and fuzzy (even though it's rough and scrumbly)... and I get that feeling when I look at this... ^
