Description

Hello, Vienna walkers :) Todays pic is a monument of Johann Nestroy in front of a beautiful old Biedermeier-house. Johann Nestroy (1801-1862) is my absolute favourite artist of the Austrian play-writers. He is also called the "Vienna Shakespeare"... It is a pity, that his great plays are almost not translateable, because he wrote much in Austrian dialect, what even German speakers only hardly can understand. He was satyrical and humorous, fighting all his life against censorship and suppression and for the freedom and equal rights of all people Todays picture is my tribute for this great artist !

Wonderful clarity and POV, and pleasing gradient on the sky. Have read that the Austrian lady who won Nobel prize for Literature recently is also difficult to translate.
