How did you get the shape of that? Is it a simple shape with a water shader that you made or something? I have been trying to come up with some equations that simulate Water, I am sure they are all over the net with an explanation, but I am lazy like that.

Go to www.nextlimit.com and check out realwave & realflow. They are the ultimate applications for water. It has plugins for 3d max. I use it in cinema4d. Look at the sample movies. The renault Laguna, in particular, is my favorite.
